Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero (born Patricia Apollonia Kotero) is a famous American performer, actress as well as a former model. The actress was the co-star of Prince's 1984 movie Purple Rain, and the lead singer of the girl group Apollonia 6 The actor and singer christened Apollonia by Prince and became one of the many female musicians in the '80s that benefited from her connection with Prince, the Purple One. Patricia Kotero began her acting and modeling career in Santa Monica California, in the latter part of the 1970s. The first time she appeared was on CHiPS. As the female protagonist of Prince's Purple Rain was her first role from 1984. Prince changed the girl's name in this period. The actress replaced Vanity with the female duo Vanity 6 who performed in the movie in the role of Apollonia 6 replacing Vanity. The trio scored a modest hit with Sex Shooter but it was when Prince performed as his duet partner on Take Me with You from the soundtrack that she made more of an impact on charts. Kotero ended her relationship with Prince after differences over the course of the course of her professional career. Apollonia 6 broke up due to their disagreement. She went on to appear in several minor films during the period (reportedly declining to appear as a character in her Purple Rain follow-up Under the Cherry Moon) before landing a role on the night-time drama Falcon Crest during 1985-1986. Apollonia was her first public appearance in 1988. The album, R&B/Dance that was pretty pedestrian and failed to impress those who bought music at the time, quickly vanished. Apollonia remained in the spotlight (if somewhat under the radar) in the role of actress throughout the following decade, appearing in small television roles and minor films and even issued an exercise video. Apollonia's Stay With Me album came out in 1997. Following her return to the university, she received a bachelor's degree in filmmaking. She also founded her own company. Apollonia is a multi-talented woman. A former model, actress and singer and manager of talent. As an actress she is renowned for her role in the movie Purple Rain.
